I help nonprofit and mission-driven organizations develop communications strategies that connect organizational goals with the people who can help achieve them.
With more than 25 years of experience, I’ve led communications for nonprofits, advocacy organizations, political campaigns, and public-interest organizations.

From Complex Issues to Clear Messages
Many organizations work on issues that are difficult to explain. Policy can be complicated. Research can be dense. Programs can be difficult to describe.
My job is to find the human story inside the complexity. I translate complicated issues into messages that are clear, credible, relevant, and actionable.
Communications With a Purpose
I don’t believe communications should exist simply to generate impressions. Effective communications should support an organization’s larger goals.
That might mean raising money, growing membership, changing public opinion, influencing policymakers, recruiting volunteers, attracting media attention, or helping people understand a new program.
My approach connects communications activity to measurable organizational outcomes.
Experience
I’ve led communications and digital engagement for organizations including Defenders of Wildlife, Women Thrive Worldwide, Care2, the Bazelon Center for Mental Health Law, Pop Culture Classroom, and President Obama’s 2012 New Mexico campaign.
Results
My career includes campaigns that have generated millions of constituent actions, raised millions of dollars, increased digital audiences, and strengthened organizational brands.
